According to reports, two missiles were fired—one reportedly failed during flight, while the other may have been intercepted. Regardless of the outcome, the attempt itself signals a significant shift in regional security dynamics.
The distance between Iran and Diego Garcia is approximately 4,000 km. However, Tehran has consistently stated that its ballistic missile range does not exceed 2,000 km. If the reported strike attempt is accurate, it suggests that Iran could possess undeclared long-range missile capabilities beyond its publicly acknowledged limits.
